When it became very difficult for the Prophet to preach in Mecca, Allah commanded him to leave Mecca and go elsewhere.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) left Mecca and came to Medina. He was given a very warm welcome by the Medinites. The people of Mecca were not happy to see the Prophet settle down in Medina and continue his preaching. They marched with a large army to fight the Prophet and the Muslims, but they were defeated.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) had to fight many wars against the unbelievers. Our first Imam, Hazrat Mowlana Murtaza Ali
(a.s.), fought in these wars and helped the Prophet to win them.

Finally, Mecca was also captured and Islam became victorious. As days sent by more and more people accepted Islam and became Muslims.

When our Holy Prophet was returning to Medina from his last Hajj (pilgrimage), he stopped at a place called Ghadir-e-Khumm. By Allah's command he declared Hazrat Ali (a.s.) to be the Imam of the believers. With this declaration he completed the religion of Islam and Allah's final message.

Allah's Messages to the Prophet are contained in the Holy Qu' ran which is the Holy Book of the Muslims.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) passed away in Medina when he was sixty-three years old. He preached for twenty-three years.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) had given in marriage his daughter Hazrat Bibi Fatima
to Hazrat Mowla Ali (a.s.).

The Imams are the descendants of Hazrat Mowla Ali through Mowlana Hussein.
