"Yaum-e-Ali", meaning "The Day of Ali", is generally referred to the day of the birth of our first Imam Hazrat Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.). According to most sources, Hazrat Mowlana Ali (a.s.) was born in the precincts of Kaaba on Friday, 13th Rajab 601 A.C. and very soon after his birth he was adopted and looked after by our Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.). The Prophet loved Hazrat Ali (a.s.) so very dearly that Abdullah ibn Abbas could not help saying: "I never saw a father love his son so much as the Holy Prophet loved Ali."

Once, when Hazrat Ali (a.s.) as a young boy was
late in returning from an errand, the Prophet became very worried and anxious, and in the end he
prayed to God: "Please God do not let me die unless I behold Ali once again."

Hazrat Mowla Ali (a.s.) is a unique figure in the history of Islam, the vital freshness of whose
memory has not been dimmed by the passage of time. The famous Egyptian philosopher Allama Muhammad Mustafa Beck Najeeb says about Hazrat Ali (a.s.): "What can be said about this Imam? It is very difficult to fully explain his attributes and qualities. It is enough to realize that the Holy Prophet had named him the gateway of knowledge and wisdom........

On account of his sagacity and thorough knowledge of human mind he always arrived at correct conclusions and never changed his opinions.. He was a man of such surpassing and pre-eminent attributes and such transcending and peerless qualities that many learned men got perplexed about him and imagined him to be an incarnation of God.
