It must also be remembered that 'baiyat' is obligatory. We must perform the 'baiyat' on the holy hands of Mowlana Hazar Imam to be his spiritual children. On behalf of Imam-e-Zaman, Mukhisaheb can accept 'baiyat' from an individual, but when an opportunity arises for the individual to perform the 'baiyat' on the hands of Hazar Imam, he should do so without fail.

It is also very important to know that we must perform 'baiyat' on the hands of a succeeding Imam. When one Imam is succeeded by another Imam, we must do the 'baiyat' of the new Imam, who is then the Hazar Imam. Hazrat Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah says in his holy Farman:"It is the duty of every mu'min to perform the 'baiyat' on the hands of the new Ja'ma (new Imam), once at least, in his life-time." We must remember that:

1. 'Baiyat' is obligatory.
2. We become Hazar Imam's spiritual-children only when we perform 'baiyat' on his holy hands.
Mukhisaheb can accept our 'baiyat' on behalf of Hazar Imam.
3. 'Baiyat' is a promise we give to Hazar Imam and we must, therefore, be faithful to it.
4. Fulfilling the 'baiyat' brings great rewards and breaking it brings harm to our own souls.
5. 'Baiyat' must be performed on the hands of a succeeding Imam Farmanbardari' (obedience to Imam-e-Zaman) means fulfilling the 'baiyat' and 'na-farmani' (disobedience to Imam-e-Zaman) means breaking the 'baiyat'.
