'SAT' means 'True'.

'PANTH' means 'Path'.

'SAT PANTH' means 'THE TRUE PATH'.

Our Pirs who came to India told the people that Ismaili Faith was the true path because it had a Living Imam to guide the believers. Our Pirs therefore described and called our Faith as SAT PANTH, meaning the TRUE PATH.

We Ismailis also call ourselves 'SAT PANTHI' meaning 'FOLLOWERS Of THE TRUE PATH'.

The Arabic word for SAT PANTH is 'SIRATAL-MUSTAQILI'. We Ismailis are on SIRATAL-MUSTAQIM because we believe in Allah,  His Prophet and the Living Imam.
