Eji Anand anand kariyo rikhisaro, Awal Shah tam‚ paya.

The above verse is of the ginan composed by our revered Pir Sadardin. In this verse we are told to rejoice and celebrate for the reason that we have been fortunate to have the recognition of Imam-e-Zaman. From the various religious scriptures it can be seen that mankind was never left without Divine Guidance. Till the time of our Holy Prophet Muhammad, one hundred and twenty-four thousand (124,000) Prophets had passed calling the people to the belief in One God and tread the True Path leading to the final union in God. Last in the line of the Prophets was our Holy Prophet Muhammad, and that is why he is called Khatemun Nabi.

As Prophet Muhammad was the last of the Prophets, are we to believe that Divine Guidance is no longer available to mankind? The idea that God's Guidance was available to mankind until the time of Prophet Muhammad, and thereafter this was no longer available, is revolting to our common sense. How could God, Who is so Kind and Merciful, leave mankind alone to find its own way to salvation? If He were to leave mankind without His Guidance, are we to believe that His wonderful attributes of Kindness and Mercy were exhausted? If we are going to answer this question in the affirmative, then we shall have to assume that one by one all His powers will become exhausted end God will be God no more. Today, if He is All-seeing, All-hearing, All-present then a day might come when He may lose these powers. If we cannot accept this idea, how can we say that God bestowed His Guidance upon mankind for a certain period in time and that He has now withdrawn this Mercy for mankind after Prophet Muhammad?
Even though Prophet Muhammad was the last of the Prophets, God's Divine Guidance has continued, for our Holy Prophet himself has said in the hadith:

"There will be no Prophets after me but surely there will be Imams''.
