The Holy Qur'an says:"He is the originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a thing, He does only say to it, 'Be' and 'It is'.- 2:17
"O mankind! Verily there hath come to you a convincing proof from your Lord. For We have sent unto you a Manifest Light." - 4:174
The above verses of the Holy Qur'an are very beautifully summarized in the following verse of the Holy Ginan:"Nooré té khak nipaya, van thambé rachiyo asman; Kudrat apni jahér kidhi, pragatiya dinka Imam." "From His Noor, He created the world, and created He, the pillarless heavens; In nature, His powers He manifested, and revealed Himself as the Imam of the Age.
The Holy Qur'an and the Holy Ginan teach us that God desired to bring into existence a Universe which would serve as a manifestation of His Majesty and His Light. This was the sole purpose of the creation of this universe.
According to the Qur'an, the universe passed from stage to stage till the earth assumed a shape and developed properties which could sustain human life, the ultimate object of the creation of, at least, our solar system When that stage arrived, God created man on this earth so that he should become the manifestation of Divine Attributes and serve as a mirror to reflect the beautiful image of God and should become the foundation of a spiritual universe.
Man, however, occupies a position of dignity and honour among created beings for the reason that he serves as a mirror for the attributes of God. That is why Muslim mystics have called man a microcosm, meaning that man possesses the attributes of the whole creation and may be regarded as an epitome of the universe. As a survey map, though on a small scale, indicates all features of the country which it depicts, in the same way there are represented in the body all the characteristics of the universe. Man is, therefore, the axis or Centre of the created universe. God had willed that Man may inhabit the earth, move about freely, live and progress, utilize other creations to his advantage; and our observation confirms that man rules over the whole of creation and that no part of creation rules over him. He is no doubt affected by changes of climate, by the light of the planets and the stars, by thunder and lightning, by storm and blizzards, by epidemics and pestilences, but he is not in any way ruled by these phenomena. Those that rule are often affected by those over whom they rule and yet there is never any difficulty in determining who rules end who is ruled. Thus, though man is affected by the other parts of creation, be nevertheless rules over them. He controls rivers, oceans, mountains, winds, thunder, rain, herbs and medicines, and is manifestly the central point of creation. Behind all this was a higher motive, the Giver of these bounties wanted. He wished that Man should always strive to realize the All-Merciful Omnipotent God, and at the end of his life merge himself in the Eternal Being.
