Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) was born in Mecca in Arabia. His father was Hazrat Abdullah and his mother was Bibi Aminah. His father had died before his birth and his mother died when he was only six year old.

Our Holy Prophet became an orphan at this very young age. His grandfather Hazrat Abdul-Muttalib took him under his care. When Hazrat Abdul-Muttalib passed away, Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) was eight years old. Hazrat Abu Talib, his uncle, then took him under his care.

As a child, the Prophet was well disciplined and he had very good habits.

He grew up to be an honest man and people therefore called him AL-AMIN, meaning 'TRUSTWORTHY'.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) married Bibi Khadija when he was twenty-five years old. Bibi Khadija was then 40 years old. When Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.s.) was forty years old, he began to preach Islam as the Prophet of Allah.

People threw garbage and litter at him and even pelted him with stones. They abused him and called him a mad man and a magician. Our  Holy Prophet never became angry. He was very patient and had strong faith in Allah. He knew that Allah was with him and that Allah would give him success.
